Maximise your Enterprise and Socio-economic development BBBEE points
BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) is an initiative by the South African Government to address historical imbalances of the country by facilitating the participation of black people in the mainstream economy through incentivising corporates.

Funds donated to the 4Walls Fund not only attract BBBEE points for qualifying ED and SED initiatives, but also receive a Section 18A income tax deduction certificate.  Give a grant, sponsor equipment requirements or provide free of charge services to earn BBBEE points.

We have an innovative model to close specific points gaps and the flexibility to align with any budget.  4Walls (Energy Box) offers the opportunity to combine your BBBEE investment with other agendas and ring fence your funds for these, like ‘green’ initiatives, early childhood development, SMME development, job creation and development of woman and youth.

Solutions for large corporate spend aimed at impacting entire townships can be developed in conjunction with the corporate.  Such an initiative may include the feasibility studies for rolling out multiple microfranchises in a township of their choice, sponsoring the training and mentoring portion of the microfranchises or providing a grant portion for the purchase of the microfranchises.  Our solutions will be tailored to your social investment needs and a budget large or small.

Develop a new distribution channel to the Bottom of Pyramid (BoP) market
Corporates seeking a new distribution channel into the vast BoP market can supply existing microfranchises or work with us to set up a microfranchise, within our model, selling your product.

Energy Box will offer an end to end solution to our target market, as opposed to most other providers in this space who generally focus on only two or three of the four products/ services in our package.

Our business concept therefore increases the probability of success for the microfranchisee, whilst providing 4Walls Holdings (a for-profit organisation) with diversified income streams and therefore a robust business model.

The 4Walls (not for profit) Fund ensures our microfranchises are able to afford our offering.

government

Energy Box makes a contribution to the burning issues of poverty and unemployment faced by local, provincial and national government.  Neither the public nor private sector, on their own, is able to provide enough jobs for an expanding labour force.

Growth of the informal sector is increasingly recognised as an alternative solution to growing unemployment, especially among the youth and the poor.  Our agenda is poverty alleviation at the BoP and we address many of the goals of the SA National Development Plan for 2030.

Our model will create sustainable jobs and SMME development that will permanently lift participants out of the poverty trap. We create and retain wealth in the township community.  The cycle of income and expenditure is contained in the community and as such can uplift on a sustained basis.

DFI’s and foundations

Energy Box impacts 13 of the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
The microfranchising business model is increasingly recognised internationally as a poverty alleviation tool, which creates the most economic self-reliance in the short and long term and permanent transition from dependency on hand-outs. Products that ensure digital and financial inclusion of the poor are sold as add on products in shops to create sustainable income for the entrepreneur.

Our effective monitoring and evaluation of microfranchisees from head office and by mentors will ensure investors’ interests are protected.

Our systems ensure impact is measured continuously and feedback can be provided to donors and investors at any time.
